2006 Project Progress
Dec. 18th, 2006 07:44 pmAt the beginning of this year, I posted a list of projects I intended to complete by the end of the year. Originally, I had an expectation of 5 projects per category, but time and preference shifted those numbers around a lot. During 2006, I completed 7 college courses (22 class hours total), got my Associate's Degree in May, and won NaNoWriMo (for the second time) in November, as well as working a part-time job and completing many unrelated poems and art projects. This year has been productive, even if it hasn't always been the productivity I've been aiming for.
I lowered the amount of art projects today, but not by choice. I have been doing a fair amount of fannish sketches, and I could easily do 5 posts of them. However, my scanner seems to be firmly bugged, so that pretty much halts my art posts until I get it replaced. Dammit.
Thankfully, I have done a fair amount of birthday and opinion posts, so I let those fill the gap. That puts my total at 23 of 25 total projects. I'm going to do one more astrological post (Tom Riddle's birthday), and post a fic. The fic will be a big deal to me because I have never posted one before. I have two that are mostly done: the first is a very odd (but cool, I think) bit of Snape genfic, and then second is an awkward, we're-doomed-let's-screw sex scene between Snape and Bellatrix. The second is much shorter than the first, but I like the first more, so I'm having trouble deciding. I also sort of need to dig someone up to beta for me.
That leads me back to my project list. I've been at this for a year, and I still feel awkward seeking out help from others. I've completed my list, but I haven't exactly rid myself of fandom shyness. Ah well, here's hoping for next year.
