...and I'm trying to get inspired to finish this stuff before the Date of Doom (which is 60 days from now).

I had never heard any of the audio versions of the HP books, so I checked out HBP a while back. Here's an odd thing I noticed that I had somehow missed during my multiple readings of the book:

When discussing DADA teachers and Snape specifically, during Dumbledore's announcements:

"'He might just go back to teaching Potions at the end of the year,' said Ron reasonably. 'That Slughorn bloke might not want to stay long-term. Moody didn't.'"

    ~HBP, Ch. 8, pg. 167

Dude, that wasn't Moody! Moody never taught at Hogwarts! It was Barty Crouch Jr. I can almost see Ron forgetting that momentarily, but Hermione or Harry would've corrected him. Dumbledore then goes on to talk about Voldemort, which might have been distracting, but it seems odd that JKR would let that fly through. I know she likes to recap some information from previous books in each new one, but that seems like a stretch to me.

I noticed that and hated it so much! Fans not realising/forgetting that "Moody" wasn't Moody is my pet peeve number one and then Ron seemingly did the same. OR JKR! The agony!
For my mental health alone I decided that Ron meant Moody didn't want to stay at Hogwarts after his year in the trunk. He was alive and still unemployed afterwards, he could have taught but obviously didn't want to, as Ron said.

DH is getting alarmingly close, isn't it? D:

Yep, time is flying by. I'm not sure whether I want it to speed up or slow down.
