Jul. 14th, 2006 03:45 amHad all four wisdom teeth removed on Monday. I'm feeling better every day, but I'm still staggering around like Captain Jack Sparrow with an inner ear infection. In addition to no longer walking like a besotted zombie, I'm also looking forward to the clarity of thought I will regain once the pain medication (and hopefully the pain) runs out. I have a lot of projects, both fannish and not, that I want to work on. The only thing I've really been able to concentrate on is one seven-line poem, which I may either edit into perfection or nonexistence, depending on how much longer I feel like staring at it.
In my addled state, I've been doing a lot of random Google and Wikipedia searching. Several days ago, I googled this fannish journal's username. One of the few links I didn't expect was this list of fannish poetry. I am surprised and vaguely pleased that all 5 of the poems I've put up in various places so far made it onto the list. I feel a bit like I've been graded, but at least the grade seems good. Two of them (I Take Your Name to Bed With Me and Natty, Nasty, Sloppily Primped) got stars, which I think were totally deserved. Of the other three poems (Death Has Dark Hair, Keep You, and Mimbulus Mimbletonia), I can understand why they could be viewed as "a bit ropey" by some standards, although, out of the trio, Keep You is the best by far. I'd have starred that one, if it were my list. But I might be a tad biased.
